Poetry By Saumya Choudhury
BIO: I'm a thirteen year old living in New Delhi, India. I enjoy writing (love it!!), basketball and guitar. In my
free time, I like listening to music. I'm a student of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. Last but not the least I'd like to dedicate
this work to my sister, Sris for her unconditional support through all times.
A Forgotten Book I lie on your shelf- forgotten. With many others like me who share the same fate. You boast upon your huge collection
of books to your friends. But do you know how horrible we feel? We want eyes to travel through us. We want fingers to touch
us. We want lips to smile at us. We don't want to be locked up in your shelves. No we don't. We are not objects- we have emotions
and you make us feel terrible by not letting our journey go on. Leave me on an empty bench. Share me with your friends or
rather donate me to a library. Let the writer's (who strived so hard to write me) message pass on. But please... do not hide
me in the shadows and imprison me. Please. Rememeber the time you unlocked me and shared your whole self with me. Those were the best days of my life. You
tagged me as your bestfriend, didn't you? But that was long ago. Now you've forgotten your old friend. These thoughts make
me sad. And I silently lie on your shelf- forgotten.
